Romney outrages Palestinians by suggesting Israeli culture is superior

Surprise, surprise, a US republican speaking to the International arena spouses right wing facist tendancies! Ignorance can usually be forgiven except when ignorant comments are dangerous and quite frankly racist. His comments only fullfill what most people think about US republicans ie they are right wing small minded and ignorant. Thats fine when you stay at home but not when you come to visit the rest of us in the global community.

Jews in pre-1948 Palestine--under British occupation-- were busy building their state, including democrat institutions and social welfare agencies. If Palestinians did the same, instead of focussing on terrorism and propaganda, they would probably have had their state long ago.

All we need is a bandit like Romney to defend a war state like Israel! I fully support a state of Israel (even tho it is based on a religion like Pakistan or Saudi Arabia) and a two state solution. But the million dollar question is: Dont you think if Jews born in Brooklyn, NY., Poland and Russia are entitled to a homeland in Israel, shouldn't Palestinians born in Jerusalem have a homeland in Palestine. If you favour one over the other, than your logic is suspect.

Jordan's GDP per capita is less than $5,000 per person, and they are not suffering from Israeli control. If Palastinains are not reaching their "potential" because of the occupation, then why are Jordanians even further behind? Do Jordaninas naturally have less potential? Isn't that racist? So does foreign aid. So do resources. So does religious control and womens' rights.

Mr. Mitt Romney's Speech clearly emphasize his level of ignorance of foreign policy and how the POTUS should approach such. Any U.S. President who is serious about helping to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian crisis has to be seen as an honest broker. Making those stupid comments is not going to help those two people achieve peace which they so desperately need.

I hope American voters back home are following Romney's little sojurn across the pond. Results are astounding. He has managed to aggravate more people on his 'good will tour' than the incumbent president did over his entire term in office. And he is only presidential hopeful, not even a president yet.

Romeny has proven himself to be a panderer to whichever audience he speaks to. Don't believe him as his words are hallow and his convictions are few.

Mr Erekat is right when he accuses Mitt Romney of being ignorant; however, using the occupation as an excuse to not develop territories managed by PA is an insult to PA itself; because it should've taken the advantage to develop those areas as a proof of ability to run a whole country - this is how things are done. So, in a way I understand what Mitt Romney meant by his criticism.
