Obama, in key speech, to target Israelis who could make or break a future peace
If there is any reason to believe that Obama charm or electrify his student audience into seeing advantages to renewed peace moves, it will be the fact that many of them have had it up to here with the ideologies that have kept this country polarized for the whole of its brief history.

Netanyahu is praying that Israelis won't say 'Yes We Can'
Perhaps, at this point in his life, Netanyahu has decided that winning a confrontation with Iran isn't everything, it's the only thing.

The gun lobby and the freedoms of the quiet American monster
People who might otherwise be alive today, are dead because other people can so easily obtain guns. And that's the work of the National Rifle Association.

We interrupt this war for: A child's first Israel word book
That pall is back. That leaden horizon and the insane heat, the brutal mass killings of innocent people - all of it pointing to war. Before it all comes horribly apart - a memory.

Romney, Condi, and the meme that pro-Israel must be anti-peace
In theory, it should make no difference whether voters see Mitt Romney's prospective choice of a vice-presidential candidate, as 'pro-Israel' or not.

'If a million American Jews moved to Israel, there'd be peace'
If a million North Americans had come to live in Israel 20 years ago, or even five, this would be a better country.

There. It's finally done. Israel has ended the occupation. Tick. Tick. Tick.
I thought that when at last the occupation came to its close, we would get our loved ones back - some of them in uniform, some of them in protest - from this monster which we pen up behind a wall.

It was Zionism itself that Israel buried this week. Let it go.
It was not only Shamir that we buried this week. When he went, he took Zionism with him. When the Ariel university is declared, Israel will have nothing more to conquer, and no need to formally annex.

As American as Mark Twain, Jerusalem, and shattered illusions
In time for July 4, an exhibit and catalog at the National Library in Jerusalem highlight 19th Century U.S. interest in a Palestine the visiting Twain bitterly called "dream-land."

No hatred is pro-Jewish. No bigotry is pro-Israel. Case in point: Pamela Geller.
ZOA should never have extended an invitation to one of America's most extraordinarily successful purveyors of unvarnished prejudice and unapologetic hatred.

Black trailblazers Obama and beauty queen Aynaw to talk about ... Pollard?
Have Israeli leaders co-opted the country's beauty queen to raise the issue of Jonathan Pollard with President Obama because she is Ethiopian? Do they think Obama will reconsider Pollard just because another black person asks him to?
