It's time to take a lesson from the successful. It's time to begin thinking like Yitzhak Shamir.

It was Zionism itself that Israel buried this week. Let it go.
It was not only Shamir that we buried this week. When he went, he took Zionism with him. When the Ariel university is declared, Israel will have nothing more to conquer, and no need to formally annex.
thank you

The state of Israel exists. It is complete. And it is a belligerent nuclear, exclusive Frankenstein that threatens world peace. And Jews the world over are shamed and endangered by it.

The Green Line may have been buried but so has the Jewish theocratic State. All to the good really. One state with equal rights for all regardless of religion. With a Palestinian majority however it may not be called Israel.

I think they want to ethnically cleanse the Jews. The average Arab hates the "yahudi".

I feel shame, a bit of disgust; I feel amazement, a little disconcernment. And then I remember this is Haaretz. That little corner of nonsensicality and self-degradation. Enjoy life as well as Edmunbd Levy's report. http://myrightword.blogspot.co.il/2012/07/were-unoccupied.html

first you blame ben gurion for not making national vote during war and while there was no government apparatus, but now when we have all the apparatus to make votes, you propose giving a different people, an enemy people, voting rights in our country, even though its clear such a venture would never pass in national vote. go bradley. establish your own country, fight for it, and then give it away. israel does not belong to you to do with as you please. which country would have you though?

I think you've got it very right. In the guise of Zionism, we are creating a state that does not grant equality to all (Jews included), does not reach out with the compassion I'd always believed was part and parcel of being Jewish and puts aside democracy in favor of populist power. It's not that we have to consider whether it's time to get off the bus. We've already been kicked off. The question is: can we find a new and better vehicle in which to continue forward toward the realization of the pure and childish notion of what Judaism means -- the notion I still naively carry within my heart and soul?
