GOP Jews and chutzpah: Rebranding Romney-Ryan as the 'tikkun olam' ticket

Folks, this thought that "someone's taxes better go up!" and "if it isnt the rich then it MUST be the poor!" is silly. The US government has been spending without any relation to incoming tax revenue for quite some time. The author mentions laying off teachers, firefighters, police etc, and ignores that $5-6 TRILLION dollars has been added to the debt. This talk of raising taxes, while every good and useful governement employee is being laid off ignores a GLARING QUESTION- WHERE ON EARTH DID THE $5-6 TRILLION DOLLARS GO?? We know it isn't going to teachers, firefighters, and police officers who with the military form the main reasons for government to begin with! Your shadow boxing saying that spending and taxes must go up or the needy suffer. In fact it is nothing but a socialist lie. The money has been spent paying off campaign donors and buying votes. In fact there have been massive multiple voting frauds, dead people somehow mailing in their ballots, and the well oiled Obama machine hums on...

I rarely bother to respond in these talk-backs because most respondees on both sides of whatever fence are usually one-sighted and /or ridiculous trolls. However, I have to say that my own economic and political awakening has caused me to fall on the side, not of the republicans or democrats but of liberty and economic freedom. We seem to have lost sight, as Jews, of what Tikkun Olam really means, not only in practice, but to us as Jews. By supporting utopian dream systems, we have consistently undone ourselves as a people. The world is not perfect, nor can we make it. What we can do is fashion a better world, not by giving handouts, but by helping others to achieve what they are able to (the highest form of charity-Maimonides). The governments efforts to stop segregation, to provide freedom, to provide infrastructure and defense are necessary. Giving money to people for free creates dependency, entitlement and victimhood and does not promote the country's welfare. We can create a state where everyone is free to achieve, we can never guarantee the results of those efforts. Every nation that has provided free markets and allowed free thoughts has allowed the Jews to thrive. Every nation that has grown its government to run everything, whether fascist, communist, or whatever, has either turned the Jews away or killed them. We have crossed the line in this country where free speech is no longer allowed, thugs of opposite parties or dispositions silence those of the other, on campuses, in the media. And when those who head the government promote class warfare for the purpose of retaining power, it is not a far step from 1917 Russia, or 1933 Berlin. Just wait. I will not. It is time for us to wake up, as individuals and as a people, to realize that this is not going to end well for us. I despise the religious right, however, unfortunately, the republican ticket at this point in time has the best chance of righting the ship here before it gets too late.
