After a day off for Orthodox Easter celebrations, CSKA Moscow held two practice sessions yesterday ahead of Friday's Euroleague semifinal clash with TAU Vitoria.
Estonian forward Martin Muursepp is undergoing intense physiotherapy for an injury picked up in CSKA's Russian playoff quarterfinal against Ural Great over the weekend, but should be fit for Friday's big game.
Theodor Papaloukas will play the Final Four wearing a face guard after breaking his nose. The Greek told Russian daily Sport Express yesterday that the face guard limited his vision, but that he would not remove it as another knock could render him out of action.
Papaloukas said Moscow was focusing on the semifinal with TAU Vitoria, but was ready to take on either Panathinaikos or Maccabi Tel Aviv in the final. "We are ready for any opponent, we want to continue our superiority from throughout the season."
Meanwhile, Spanish daily El Correro reported yesterday that Effes Pilsen coach Mahmuti Oktay could replace Dusko Ivanovic at Vitoria next season, if Ivanovic's speculated move to Barcelona goes through.
