Shlomi Assayag of Or Akiva and Frenchman Francois Ilouz share first place on the leader board after the second round of the Maccabiah tournament at the Caesarea Golf Club yesterday with scores of 150.
Assayag, an 18-year-old soldier, who led after the first round with a 74, shot a 76 yesterday. Ilouz, the six-times french champion and European champ who shot a 76 on the first day, shot a 74 yesterday. National champion Itamar Cohen is one stroke behind on 151 (75-76). Israel's Tamar Renassia-Partos, who is seven months pregnant, leads the women's competition on 174.
There are no foreign competitors among the women at this Maccabiah. Among the teams, Israel is in first place, with South Africa second and a joint Argentina, Austria, French South-African team third.
